For me, wrapping a gift is practically as important as the gift inside.
Regular wrapping paper just won’t due unless it’s embellished with something.
When you take the time and make the extra effort to wrap a beautiful gift it makes the gift all that more special.
Don’t you think?
With that being said, we are all looking for ways to be creative but don’t have a lot of time to spend on wrapping, so I’d like to share with you a few of my favorites that I think will “Wow” the crowd, won’t break the bank and you can do pretty quickly.
The ingredients needed for this sweetness are as follows: cute knee socks; festive kitchen towel ; christmas placemat: glue gun; scissors; ribbon.
Let’s begin with these cute knee socks: We never go emptied handed to a party and bringing a bottle of wine is usually a pretty standard gift. How about making it something special to receive?
Cut the foot of the sock off and slip over the bottle.
Use a little double stick tape to finish off the bottom.
Use a little bakers twine to to attach a gift tag.
Super cute wouldn’t you agree?
And, for the price of one pair of socks ($5.00) you get
2 bottle cozies. How fun is that?
Next, choose a placemat that you can fold in half vertically and has the design you like when folded. I found this cute snowman at Crate and Barrel. He was just what I was looking for:). (oops, the corners are hidden in this photo)
side and bottom of mat to close.
(you can also sew it if you prefer)
Thirdly, you can use a bonding tape (stitch witchery). Place the tape along the edges, line up the ends perfectly and press with a hot iron.
Insert your gift and close with a cute ribbon.
Next, I also purchased a dish towel from Crate and Barrel. (love this store) I ’m so excited that it is oversized (huge), cute print and has red ball fringe (bonus!) It’s so large that I’m going to get two cute gift bags for the price of one. WOO HOO!
Cut in half and press neatly.
You will need to finish off the edge that is cut. Fold over the raw edge 1/4 inch and press.
Now to finish, place the bonding tape carefully along the edge of the towel.
Fold the towel back over taking care not to move the tape. Now press to secure.
The bag on the left is the finished one I just showed you how to make.
To get the bag on the right simply leave open one side and glue down the other side and the ball fringe edge.
This is perfect for giving a magazine subscription. (shh, don’t tell my sister).
THERE YOU HAVE IT!
