Father’s Day Celebration: Cold Stone Creamery

June 8, 2014 by Party Patisserie Filed Under: Celebrate 22 Comments

In our house, June is a big month for my husband. His birthday is only a week before Father’s Day, which means we dedicate the first half of June to celebrating him!

This year, we decided to combine the two holidays into one celebration. Since he loves to play golf,  we used the sport as our theme for the party. While he spent the day golfing with my son Rob, the girls and I put together a low-key, relaxing party that was ready by the time they got home.

We were excited to partner with Cold Stone Creamery for this special day. We ordered Cold Stone’s Tall, Dark & Delicious ice cream cake online, and it was ready by the afternoon for pick-up. Here’s a sneak peek:

To get the party started, we needed to set the table.

We began by making these fun Bow-tie napkin rings.  We couldn’t resist adding a colored golf tee!

Get the DIY here:

Next we filled a tub with his favorite drink, root beer.

Have to keep it family friendly. 🙂

Now, for the piece de resistance: the cake!

Like I mentioned earlier, you can order the cake at coldstonecakes.com, and pick it up at your local Cold Stone Creamery. Makes it so easy and convenient. It’s called Tall, Dark & Delicious, and boy, is it delicious!

I added a little bunting to personalize the cake for dad. (After all, it is his day right?)

But we couldn’t eat it just yet. (The suspense!) The guys had to talk about their golf game first, hole by hole. (Boys.)

After waiting way too long, we could finally dig in! Tall, Dark & Delicious is layers of moist Devil’s Food Cake, Sweet Cream Ice Cream with Brownies and Chocolate Ice Cream with OREO® Cookies wrapped in fluffy White Frosting and cascading Fudge Ganache.

Mmm. Is your mouth watering yet? It should be!

Basically, this cake is heaven on Earth for us chocolate lovers. Devil’s food cake, brownies and Oreos all mixed in with sweat cream and chocolate ice cream! Yum!

Of course, no birthday is complete without presents. Putting together dad’s gift was a cinch. Nothing beats a bucket full of golfing gear! (Thanks, Home Goods and Target!)

Mmm, this cake looks so delish and I bet my hubby would love it too! I’m also using your idea and putting a golf themed basket for Father’s Day, my husband is a die hard golf fan and will love getting some new goodies to hit the course with.
