{Friday Favorites} Lindsay from Easy Made Invitations

Today I’m really excited to feature Lindsay from Easy Made Invitations.  Lindsay has a beautiful blog where she showcases great invitations that she makes. There you will get a fantastic array of her gorgeous and creative line.  She generously shares her DIY invites which are so much fun and easy to make. Lindsay will also make custom invitations to your specifications and has a beautiful Etsy shop.

With Christmas quickly approaching and all sorts of parties being planned, I thought I would feature one of her Christmas invitations that you can make and adapt it to any party you are hosting.

Supply List…

{ Supplies }

First, cut the green cardstock in half to a size of 5-1/2″x 8-1/2″.  Then cut the red cardstock to a size of 5″x 8″.  I like to use my X-acto Paper Trimmer for all my invitations…I’ve had it for years and it still works perfectly!

{ Trim the paper }

Next, using either a Word program or a printshop program, or if you’re fortunate to have one, an Illustrator program, create a text layout.  Be sure to include all the party information.  I created a fun heading using different fonts and colors.  Have fun with it!  Play with font sizes and styles to create the perfect look for your invitation.

The next step is to print out your text and cut the white cardstock.  It needs to be cut down to a size of 4-1/4″x 7-1/4″.

{ Punch the bottom edge }

Using the edge punch that’s shown, or any that you like, punch only the bottom edge of the white cardstock.

Now, using those super cute mini Christmas lights, string them across the top portion of the white cardstock.  Attach them on the back using a piece of tape.  I also used a couple of dabs of hot glue on the front to help them “hang” perfectly.

{ Attach the layers together }

The final step is to attach all the layers together using the mounting squares.  Be sure to keep all the layers centered to create a tidy and finished look.

 That’s it!  Thank you Lindsay for giving us such a fun invite to try.

Please visit Lindsay’s blog for many more great invitations.

{Fab Find Friday}

Happy Friday!  I’m  excited to introduce you to this new section of the blog. I’m going to be on the look-out for Fab new Finds that I like and want to share with all of you. Let me know what ya think and if you have a Fab Find you’d like to share,  post a comment or send me an email.

I’m excited about this one because I featured it in our Black and White Polka Dot Halloween Party. Take a look if you missed it.  The chalkboard embellished glasses.

These cute glasses have a chalkboard on the front and come ready with the chalk. Great way for the goblins to keep track of their brew. They were a big hit!  You can use them for any party occasion as well.

Glasses purchased from: Pier One Imports -$2.99 each

Have a great weekend!
