{Party Themes} Princess and the Pea Birthday Party

I’m so excited to share this Princess and the Pea birthday party with you today.

The reason I love this party so much is that every aspect of it was made by Anj, of Snowy Bliss,  for her sweet daughter.  And she has made it easy for you to recreate.

Great parties don’t have to cost a fortune if you’re willing to do a lot of it yourself.  And this creative mama does just that.  A girl after my own heart.  So sit back and enjoy the show.

Her daughter wanted a PJ party. I guess you would call it a Hap-PEA Birthday PEA- j Party.

It all begins with her hand made Invitation

which opens up with the princess bed on one page and the invite on the other.

THE PRINCESS BED

Anj actually hand drew the headboard and her husband got into the act as he hauled and stacked 5, yes 5 matresses and box springs to make the table. A piece of particle board was added on top of it to give it a solid flat surface for the plates and such.

Adorable fabric was layered to make the bed coverings or the tablecloth.

Given the height of the table, the girls got to stand around the table to eat and loved the novel idea of it.

To finish off the look, green poms were hung above the bed.

Now for THE SWEETS.  Anj made this adorable cake,

and Cake Topper

and when you cut into the cake what do you see?  Peas ofcourse.

Anj used her polka dot cake technique to get the affect.

She also served “Sugar Peas”! Cake balls dipped in green candy melts.  Topped with sanding sugar.
and to rinse it down,

The Stewarts key lime sodas were labeled Slee-”Pea” Potion and she
Trimmed the edges of the labels with this Martha Stewart scallop edger punch.
For the ice cream… Lime sherbert in dessert cups with little crown wraps to fit around them.
THE PARTY FAVORS
Anj made each girl a small pillow & sleeping mask.  The blankets were a great find at

Ikea and finished off with a paper crown that wrapped around each one.

She purchased the green balls at Party City, spray painted, glittered and filled with, what else, green candy.

This is one lucky little princess.  Wouldn’t you say?

Be sure to visit Snowy Bliss blog for more details on the party and her Etsy Shop so you can recreate it too.

Thank you Anj for sharing your amazing party with us!

When I first seen this party I was immediately pulled in by the beautiful Aqua color.

Inspired by dandelions on an open field,  Cris  from Crissy’s Crafts created a whimsical,  Make a Wish birthday party for her daughter’s 9th Birthday.
Wanting to create a magical escape for the girls to enjoy their treats and make crafts,  Cris used white fabric strips, fishing line and the trees as poles, to  make a marquee in the back yard.

The dessert table backdrop was made out of foam board which was covered with fabric then she added the WISH banner from  Bird’s Party Make a Wish collection.

DIY Party Favors:
Each girl received a mini canvas purse with a notebook and puff ball pen, a puff ball hair clip and an artist apron.
DIY stenciled mini canvas purses and apron: dandelions stencil, fabric paint, stencil brush, boa and rhinestone.
DIY favors table backdrop: Painted dandelions on postboards glued to a foam board.
Such a beautiful and lucky little girl!
Thank you Cris for sharing your absolutely beautiful and unique birthday party with us!
