Cookie cutters aren’t just for cookies.

Love this idea of using the cutter for ice cream or homemade marshmallows.

{Parties} “Sweet On You” Valentine’s Day Party

As you may know,  I love to sew and I’m always creating something for the house. Well after making these lip pillows I was really happy with the way they turned out and decided to build a  Valentine’s Day party  around them.

Since  I already had the  large lip candy mold,  I picked up some lip stickers and was on my way.

Needing a way to display the lip suckers,  I created the cake with styrafoam layers and covered with decorative scrapbooking paper.  I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

Now that I had my cake,  it began to evolve into sweets and more sweets, hence the name “Sweet On You”.

The icecream cones are giant marshmallows tucked into a sugar cone,  dipped in colored chocolate and covered in sprinkles.  Our little colored springs are a perfect display for these goodies.

Miniature sundae glasses, that I picked up last summer at an antique mart featured our mini cupcakes which are topped with turquoise suckers.

We frosted the cake with turquoise rock candy and accented the cake stand with the colorful gumballs.

Little meringue cookies made a perfect topping for the cake.

Sundae dishes where filled with conversation hearts and pixie candy stix where used as stirs.

We’re thrilled to feature our new table runner, so colorful with giant ric rac trim.

Trying to keep the sweets easy, a few boxes of Oreo Cakesters decorated with heart sprinkles did the trick.

A little Milk & Cookies anyone?

We filled two large sundae glasses with gumballs and M & M’s topped with a saltwater taffy lid.

Our old fashion candy jars were filled with strawberry heart marshmallows. Don’t you just love the lids?

Everyone was happy to receive a little take-home box of goodies to enjoy later.

Oh, and did we mention how much fun the kids had?

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

{Party Themes} Vintage Valentine Party

Today I’m thrilled to feature this gorgeous Shabby Chic Valentine Party by Cris from Crissy’s Crafts.

Cris loves vintage style  (a women after my own heart),  and when she was contacted by  Bird from Bird’s Party to style a party around her new printable collection, she was thrilled. The Love Bird collection is utterly adorable and oh so sweet.

The party was held outdoors and she used props from around the house.  The thrift shop was great for finding the perfect small treasures for the sweets table.

I liked that Cris used a trellis to hang mason jars filled with silk pink hydrangeas as a backdrop for the cupcake table.

She also used her daughters desk to display all the yummy treats.  They include chocolate bonbon (from Brazil), dark fudge kettle corn, oreo cakesters, strawberry chocolate filled marshmallows, love birds chocolate cupcakes and chocolate dipped puffs. Most of the goodies were store bought and she made them look a little more festive.  The vintage ribbon garland was made by A to Zebra Celebrations.

Healthy snacks were also on the menu like whole wheat love bird sandwiches and vegetables shots.  The children followed her rule that they need to eat healthy foods before they attacked the sweets!

A large table was set for the girls to sit at and enjoy the treats complete with a flower centerpiece that Chris made out of soda cans. ( very clever)  I like the vintage napping rings that she made too. Beautiful cloth napkins that were purchased at the thrift shop for 30 cents a piece were a great bargain and the girls loved using them.

For a take home gift, the children made bracelets and put in cute metal tins embellished with more printables.

Our sweet little party girl looks adorable in her adorable headband by Vintage Rose Wraps.

Diy pillow favor boxes and pink organza bags were filled with kisses, M& M’s and Hershey’s Miniatures.

Cris also used the printable scrapbook paper, cupcake toppers, printable cut-outs and editable buffet cards form the collection to embellish the dessert table items like the white frames, the cupcakes, the wooden birds and the doily banner.

What a gorgeous party!  Thank you Crissy’s Crafts for all your wonderful inspiration.

{Party Inspiration} “Monkey Business” Valentine Party

Today I’m excited to feature this adorable and playful party by Candybar Couture.

Marjenah got her inspiration for the party from these playful little Sock Monkeys she found on a shopping trip.

The bright colors of orange and yellow offer a nice addition to the typical red and pink for Valentine’s Day.

I love how she displayed these colorful little guys in the candy dishes. (hope they don’t eat to much)

The Sock Monkeys appear again, this time in cake pop form.  Great idea to display them in a bed of bright yellow candy beads.

Carrying the stripe theme from the little monkeys to the backdrop is a great way to provide continuity.

I’m love’n the banner too?

Don’t you just love the vibrant colors of the candy and the cupcake toppers?

Paper baskets are another fun option for displaying more colorful candy.

Check out the embellished clothes pins.  Sweet!

These heart shaped containers provide a nice take-home gift.

Monkey Business sure is a lot of fun!

Thank you Candybar Couture for sharing your party with us!
