Here’s a really cute and easy DIY from our recent Halloween Party which we will be featuring soon.
These tissue paper flowers are a real showstopper.
Want to make some of your own? Here’s how:
Materials needed: 6 sheets of tissue paper, scissors, pipe cleaners, yard stick or tape measure. (Hint): I used a quilters cutting mat and a rotary cutter which made it really easy and quick to measure and cut.)
Cut 6 sheets of of tissue paper 16 x20 inches and stack on top of each other.
I alternated my colors, 2 orange, 2 purple, 2 orange. (you can use one color if you prefer)
Accordion-fold the tissue paper end that is 16 inches. Make the crease 1 1/2 inches. Turn paper over and crease 1 1/2 inches again and continue until complete.
Fasten in the center using a pipe cleaner by twisting.
Cut the ends to round off.( no photo for this step)
Now the fun part. Gently, pull the first layer of tissue paper towards the center and continue all the way around. Then do the second layer in the same fashion. Continue until all the layers have been pulled out.
Next, take a wooden dowel (I painted mine white and purchased it from Hobby Lobby) and attach to the back of the flower by sliding it under the pipe cleaner. A little scotch tape my be helpful to hold in place.
And there you have it, Gorgeous!
