{Sweet Inspiration} Chalkboard Craze

October 29, 2012 by Party Patisserie Filed Under: Sweet Inspirations 1 Comment

Happy Monday all.  I’m sure if you’re like me, you’ve noticed that chalkboard surfaces are showing up everywhere.

I call it the Chalkboard Paint Craze.

It’s stylish and has a purpose at the same time.  I’m absolutely loving it and thought I’d share some inspiration with you.

How about Painting A Wall in your office with chalkboard paint and using chalk pens to draw a monthly calendar?

Quite a statement, wouldn’t you agree!

Ooh, wouldn’t it be fun to use colored paint for a child’s room and they could scribble on the walls until their little heart’s content. (and we won’t have to think how and heck to get the scribbles off)

Not wanting to commit to a whole wall?  How about closet doors?

This next option is perfect if you don’t want to commit to painting or can’t.

This Frig Decal is perfect for keeping notes while being a little stylish at the same time.

Isn’t it pretty?  I think so too!

Chalkboard Talk Bubbles is a fun idea for decorating your tween’s room or perhaps to use for a photo booth option.

What’s great about this idea is that you can make this yourself with foam core and contact paper.  Yes, that’s right, there is even Chalkboard Contact Paper.

Get the directions here.

I’m sure we’ve all seen this one. Make a Chalkboard out of a thrift store frame.

Next time you’re thrift store shopping of dumpster diving,  be sure to give those old pictures a second look. Painting over the photo is a quick fix for a bad picture.

Get directions here.

Painted Silver Trays

are in some of the more expensive stores but we found a way to get the popular look using
Dollar store trays + chalkboard spray paint.

Lovely way to display menus at special events. So pretty for a wedding table but I think I’ll use one for Thanksgiving!

Chalkboard Clay Pots

Super fun idea and so easy too. Love this one! Don’t you too?

Directions here.

Chalkboard Labels

We’ve seen all sorts of labels but the chalkboard ones are great if you need to reuse them. Thanks Martha!

Get here.

For our Halloween party, the spooky spirits were served in chalkboard-embellished glasses. This made it easy for goblins to keep track of their brew. Spooky words are fun too!

Well, as you can see, chalkboard is being used practically everywhere.

There are so many more ideas we could look at but now it’s time to decide how you will use it.

You can get you chalkboard paint pens at Michaels crafts and many other stores and ofcourse you can buy the paint in many different colors too at your paint store.

Just have fun with it.!
