You’ve Been BOO-Ti-Fied DIY

October 16, 2013 by Party Patisserie Filed Under: Create 1 Comment

As it’s getting closer to Halloween,  it’s time to get the treats ready to start BOOing the neighbors. (oh, that didn’t sound right, he, he).  It’s such a fun tradition to surprise  your neighbors with a fun treat. It’s a great build-up to the big night too!

My kids would drop the goodies at their doorstep, ring the doorbell and run.  They’d hide behind a bush and watched on as the neighbors would open the door and be surprised.  It was always such a thrill for them. They liked giving as much as getting.

I’ve teamed with Sweet Works and they sent me these gorgeous gumballs for this fun project.

So, on with the project. I decided to Boo-ti-fied this little ghost with a gumball necklace.

It’s easy, fun, super cute and takes very little time to make.

The supplies:

Begin by making a hole in the gumball.  I used a clean awl and gently pushed with a slight twist, into the gumball.

You have to be slow and careful so you don’t crack the gumball. Once you get through the initial outer shell, it is hallow in the inside. Now, turn the gumball over and make another hole on the other side so you’ll be able to string it.

After you finish your first gumball,  you’ll get the feel for it and it goes pretty quickly.  Get 5 gumballs ready.

I threaded a large needle with a ribbon and inserted it into the gumball.

Just like when we were kids stringing beads.

Using ribbon is great because the gumballs don’t slip around.  They’ll stay put where you want them.

Aren’t they pretty?  I have to admit, I just love gumballs! (a few may have disappeared during this post)

Finish making the necklace.

Now print the ghost on white card stock. ClickBootified_Ghost-1  for pattern.

Cut ghost out and attach with double stick tape to the black bag.

Next I filled little bags with an assortment of the gumballs so the neighbors can make their own little gumball necklaces.

After you fill them, just drop them in the black bag and you’re ready to attach the necklace.

I just taped the strings of the necklace to the black bag because it stronger than taping it to the ghost.

 I hope you’ll BOO-Ti- FY someone today!

[…] To make the bubblegum stirs: white candy sticks, bubblegum, awl. Make sure the awl you use is clean. Push the awl gently into the gumball and then insert in the gumball. That’s it! Check out my gumball necklace here: https://partypatisserie.com/2013/10/diy-youve-been-boo-ti-fied/ […]
