Christmas Sock Cup Cozies

December 2, 2013 by Party Patisserie Filed Under: Create Leave a Comment

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to begin the month off with an oldie but goodie.  I made these cup cozies a few years ago and was so happy with the way they turned out. I was thrilled when they were  chosen by Celebrations.com as their favorite craft of 2011.

It is one of the easiest and sweetest DIY you’ll ever make. So without further ado let’s get started. The idea came about when I wanted to have something for the neighborhood kids when they came around caroling. It’s been a tradition in our neighborhood for years. With it being so cold in Chicago in December, I figured I’d serve them hot chocolate. But, of course, I couldn’t just serve it in regular old styrafoam cups. They are so boring, right?  So while at Target I saw these darling Christmas socks and the light bulb went off. Cup cozies!

After deciding on the cup you’ll be using, cut off the foot portion of the sock.

Next,  pull the sock over the cup and adjust it.

On the underside of the cup you’ll attach the rough edge of the sock  using double sided tape.

It should sit perfectly for you.

Just finish it off by adding these cute straws   Remember not to make it too hot so they can sip through the straws. So there you have it..

Didn’t I tell you how sweet and easy they are?  Hope you have a sweet day too!
