Wrapping it Up

December 6, 2013 by Party Patisserie Filed Under: Decorate Leave a Comment

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share with you another favorite one of my gift wrapping ideas that, again is so easy and cute to make.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to present gifts uniquely and beautifully.  I believe when you take the time and make the extra effort to wrap a beautiful gift it makes the gift all that more special.

Christmas towels and placemats are everywhere and so darn cute. For this project you’ll need a kitchen towel (the cotton thin ones)  and a placemat. (I showed how to make the bottle here)

I found this adorable placemat at Crate and Barrel and it’s perfect because the design is in the corner. (Sorry, slightly out of focus and cut the corner off, oops!)

Lay the mat flat and then fold it in half matching up the side and bottom.

You’ll need to secure them together.

You can either stitch them together down the side and bottom or iron on stitch witchery or use a bead of glue. I choose the hot glue here. Gently press and hold for a few seconds.

It makes a beautiful finished bag!

Now you’re ready to insert your gift and secure with a ribbon.  What do ya think?

Next, I purchased this towel at Crate & Barrel also. I liked it because of the cute ball fringe. Bonus!!!

It’s also an extra wide towel so I’ll get 2 bags of this one. woo hoo!  Lay it flat, press and cut down the center.

You will need to finish off the edge that is cut. Fold over the raw edge 1/4 inch and press.

Now to finish,  place the bonding tape carefully along the edge of the towel and press. Fold the towel back over taking care not to move the tape. Now press to secure.

The bag on the left is the finished one I just showed you how to make.

To get the bag on the right simply leave open one side and glue down the other side and the ball fringe edge.

This is perfect for giving a magazine subscription.

How you’ll try this idea.

Do you know anyone that would like to receive one of these? Give it a try and you’ll be happy you did.

Have a sweet day!
