Happy Wednesday, everyone! I have been promising my kids that I’d make a batch of Rice Krispie Treats, and today’s the day. I bought some cookie cutters at Williams-Sonoma last week, and thought I’d use them.
The recipe I used is from the Kellogg’s Rice Krispies site.
After you mix the ingredients, place the mixture on a greased cookie sheet and press it down. Here’s a tip: Place a piece of wax paper over the mixture and press it down on the pan. It’s super easy and fast.
To cut out the bunnies, spray a little cooking spray on the cookie cutter and press down.
Aren’t they cute?
Next, choose your color melts for the necktie.
Place the candy melts in a dish and melt them in the microwave. I then placed the melted chocolate in separate baggies. After cutting a corner off the bag, I squeezed a row of chocolate onto the bunny to make his tie. I also cut little bow tie from glittered paper and pressed it into the wet chocolate.
I cut a minature marshmallow in half and pressed it on for a little tail.
To get the bunnies to stand, I placed a piece of covered styrofoam on a cake plate, pushed a toothpick into the bottom of each and pressed it into the foam. Just cover with grass, and you’re done.
Then I continued to play with the other bunnies …
… and gave them eyes. I think I like them better this way. What do you think? They’re yummy either way!
