Today I’m so happy to have interior designer Rachel Rossi guest posting on the blog. Rachel blogs about home design and decor on her site, RachelRossi.co. Today she is sharing her sweet tea party theme with us, so sit back and enjoy! You just might want to make yourself a cup of tea, too! So, take it away Rachel!
It’s spring! The world seems new, you’ll do anything to get out of the house and into the beautiful weather. There just seems to be a general excitement about life. It’s the perfect season for weddings, and weddings mean bridal showers! Last spring my mom and sister threw a beautiful bridal shower for me. Today I want to share with you my tea party-themed bridal shower, my favorite details, and how you can pull off a party like this!
Let’s start with the venue, which was perfect! My sister had found this hidden gem, The Pump House Bed and Breakfast in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Outdoor venues are great, but make sure to have a backup in case of bad weather. In this case, a huge refinished barn on the property served as a great “plan B” in case the skies were looking grey! What made this spot so great? We had a babbling creek (no music necessary), a ceiling of dogwood trees, and walls of beautiful forsythia blooms!
What really put this theme over the top were the place settings. The ladies in my family are avid collectors of all things lovely, especially tea cups. Between a few generations of collectors, they had enough tea cups and plates for every guest to have one! I even got my own tea cup for my wedding day!
Here it is at the bridal shower:
Here it is on the morning of our big day!
What’s better than taking the party home with you? Check out these adorable tea bag favors that carried the theme out perfectly! Precious and easy to make! Just wrap 3 tea bags in some tulle and tie up with string. Write your own tags for a personal touch!
Let’s admit it now: Nothing is better than bridal shower food! It’s all the girly food that you love! Little sandwiches, baby quiche, punch that matches your colors… it’s everything you’ve seen on Pinterest in one place!
Finally, what made this shower so wonderful was the thought put into every detail. From sugar cubes (my favorite) to vintage hankies, everything was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for anything better!
Needless to say, it was the perfect day. I hope that this has inspired you to throw your own “Tea for Two” party!
