Hello, everyone! I’m getting so excited for Easter. How about you? I’m having so much fun putting out my bunnies everywhere!
The snow is almost melted, and we actually had a few warm days (in the 5os) to encourage us that spring is really here. I love to decorate for all holidays, but Easter is special. The pretty pastel colors just scream spring, and with winter being so long, I’m really ready for some color.
Today I made these pretty Bunny Tails chair wraps for my kitchen chairs.
My kitchen chairs are white, and perfect for a little splash of color. Since I’ve accented my kitchen with the pretty blueish-green, turquoise color that is so popular now, I decided to carry out that color. I also made white tails to alternate colors.
TO MAKE, YOU’LL NEED:
- One shimmer turquoise bolt of tulle and one shimmer white bolt of tulle.
- One roll of burlap ribbon (I got mine at Hobby Lobby)
- Iron-on velcro
- Sharp scissors (preferably a pair you only use for fabric)
Step 1: Wrap tulle about 20 times around a box (or anything you have). Carefully slip the tulle off the box and pinch together in the center through all layers. Tie securely with an 8-inch piece of tulle directly in the center (looks like a bow).
Step 2: Cut through all layers of tulle on both ends. Fluff open and set aside.
Step 3: Measure around your chair with the burlap ribbon and allow about 2 inches of overlap. Cut the Velcro for both ends of the ribbon, being careful to use the correct pieces. (Read the directions on the package.) I purchased the iron-on velcro.
I checked here to make sure I had a snug fit before adding the pom tail.
Step 4: Hot glue the back of your bunny tail and press to the top ribbon. Make sure you can open and close the velcro.
And there you have it!
I’m so happy with the way they turned out.
I hope you’ll give them a try!
