I think chocolate should be a food group.
I’m always in the mood for chocolate. Scratch that. I’m always craving chocolate.
That’s why National Chocolate Chip Day may be one of the best food holidays of the year.
Chocolate chips may be little, but they’re mighty. (And when you desperately need a chocolate fix, a handful of these little guys does the trick!)
So today, to celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day (even though technically it was yesterday), I bought a giant one from Eataly.
It was the size of my plate!
But I ate the entire thing and have no regrets. It was delicious!
In honor of National Chocolate Chip Day, here are a few recipes that highlight the mighty chocolate chip. Enjoy!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes
If you love cookie dough and cupcakes, this delightful treat has both. The center of the cupcake is cookie dough filling!

Safe-to-Eat Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Whenever I bake cookies, I have to exert every ounce of my willpower to not eat the entire batch of dough before I bake it into cookies. So when I stumbled upon this recipe for cookie dough that doesn’t include eggs, (that means it’s safe to eat!), I could barely contain my excitement!

Mini Chocolate Chip Whoopie Pies
Whoopie pie is fun to say, but even more fun to eat! The chocolate marshmallow filling in these little guys is delectable.
