Every year when I look for Father’s Day cards, I can’t help but notice that most of them are the same. There are cards about grilling, fishing, tools, sports—and that’s about it.
But what about the rest of the dads who like those things, but have other more invested interests?
When I tried to come up with a theme for my husband’s Father’s Day celebration this year, I wanted to go with something different—something he really loved.
It hit me right away: sailing!
My husband loves sailing, and somehow, we’ve never thrown a party for him with this theme before. So, when Cold Stone Creamery approached us to partner with them to show how we plan to use their Tall, Dark & Delicious ice cream cake to celebrate Father’s Day, I knew I had to plan the party around sailing.
I was so excited when Cold Stone Creamery asked us to partner with them. Their ice cream cakes are absolutely delectable.
This Tall, Dark & Delicious cake has layers of moist devil’s food cake, sweet cream ice cream with brownies and chocolate ice cream with OREO® cookies wrapped in fluffy white frosting and cascading fudge ganache.
Our cake was extra frosty when we took it out of the freezer—perfect for a hot summer day!
Chocolate lovers, this cake is for you.
My mouth is watering all over again!
If you’d like to order one of these cakes for your Father’s Day celebration, you can do so at ColdStoneCakes.com. Once you order your cake, you can pick it up at your local Cold Stone store. It’s super easy.
The nautical theme was perfect because it’s so trendy this year. I had tons of fun items to pick from in almost every store. Most of the items in this post are from HomeGoods and Target.
I set the table with these nautical plates …
… and guests picked up their silverware from this cute anchor basket.
My daughter folded the napkins into these sweet sailboats. How perfect!
Stay tuned for the tutorial later this week. 🙂
We kept some adult drinks cold in this giant ice bucket …
…and put a few next to these adorable sailboat glasses.
I was so excited to find this cool wooden bottle carrier. I knew it would be perfect for the old-fashioned Coke bottles. It even has a bottle opener on the side! So convenient! (I get excited over the little things)
For those who wanted to munch on something salty, we filled these charming boxes with crunchy pretzels.
I sprinkled a few extra nautical items around the party space to make everyone feel like we were truly at the beach.
Don’t forget to order your cake!
