DIY Sunglasses Tote Bag

August 11, 2015 by Party Patisserie Filed Under: Create Leave a Comment

Hello, everyone! I hope you’re enjoying your summer. We are so happy to be getting some hot summer weather here since we got off to a late start.

Today I’m excited to share with you one of my summer tote bags that I made. Since summertime is so relaxed and carefree, I love my bags to be the same.

Here my daughter Kate is using it as a pool-side tote. She loves it! Hope I get it back.

I’m so excited how fast this came together and how cute it turned out!

Making this tote was so quick and super easy.

Supplies:

  • Canvas tote bag
  • Craft paint
  • Ribbon
  • Glue gun

Step 1:

I used a white tote bag I already had, but you can buy one at any craft store or online. I printed a heart shape that I got online, made a copy of it and traced it onto the bag to form the sunglasses. I did the same with the lips.

Next, I used pink craft to paint the frame. When the pink frame dried, I added the white dots by dipping the end of the paint brush into white paint and dotted. When completely dried, I filled in the heart shape with the black paint. Next I painted the lips. (I didn’t take pics of all these steps because I think it’s self-explanatory).

Adding the black-and-white stripe ribbon was the finishing touch.
