Celebrating with those we love has always been important to us here at Party Patisserie, but now that the world is sheltering in place and we’re physically separated from friends and family, thinking about the times when we can be together in person again seem even more precious.
Last year my sweet mom threw me a baby shower, and now that spring is here, it seemed like a good time to share it.

The theme was a mix between Peter Rabbit and children’s books. I love reading and knew I wanted to incorporate stories into the day, and “Peter Rabbit” was the perfect one to feature, because I was having a little boy.

I loved the creamy pastels of the illustrations and mischievous Peter.

At each place setting, there was a bookmark with a quote from a favorite children’s book. Because it was too hard to choose just one quote, I chose four. 🙂
We put these cute little Peter Rabbit prints on the fireplace mantle. My favorite is the one that says, “Even the smallest one can change the world.” It’s now in my little boy’s nursery.

I asked guests to bring a book instead of a card to help start my little one’s library. Now that he’s here, it’s so special to see a note from a family member or friend inside the front cover of a book that we read together.

When they dropped off their gifts at the gift table, guests could add their book to the basket.
These little cupcake toppers are miniature versions of real Beatrix Potter stories.

The party favors were little berry boxes filled with candy. They looked so cute in this little garden setting.
